Iratus- by Karnian Circus Deadly

After half a year, I’ve finally made up another parody. The original poem is ‘Invictus’ by W.E. Henley and it’s truly a wonderful poem. Do read it here if you haven’t yet. This is also the first time I’ll be commenting on current events on my blog through this very parody. The current event I’m talking about is the Padmaavat riots in India and my Indian fellas would know all about it since it’s all people are talking about these days. Despite all this tension, I’m comforted by the fact that at least the movie was able to release today. If you couldn’t make head or tail of the previous two lines, you can read about the controversy here.

Out of the sense under cover in me,

Dense as a rock from head to toe

I believe when anything offends me

The whole nation is my foe.

Looking at a simple dance,

I have winced and cried aloud

Under the bludgeonings of my irrational stance

I have bloodied others’ heads, while mine’s unbowed.

I’ve made this a place of wrath and tears

On a news channel, I brought a blade,

And my menace and that of my peers

Tries to make people afraid.

It matters not how many lives are at stake

I’ll attack a bus going to school,

I am the master of daft brains

I am the captain of losing cool.

People nowadays get offended very easily, so:

DISCLAIMER: This wasn’t meant to offend anyone.

On an unrelated note, I know you want to know why I’ve been away for two weeks. Even if you don’t, I’m gonna tell you anyway. It’s because I had my pre-board exams. I’m also gonna stay off blogging for the whole month of March, since I have my boards then, which are like a really big deal for Indian 10th graders. So, dear readers (gives you a virtual hug) I hope you’ll manage to survive a month without me. (Just kidding, I know you have a lot of other blogs to read). But yes, I’ll do my best to post once a week in February.

Until next time then, pals!
